Meet Jakada Khalfani
Before I was an author, artist, or educator, I was simply someone trying to make sense of life.
Feel-Know-Vision began as an attempt to answer my own questions before it became something I shared with others. I'm still searching for those answers today.
My path has taken me far beyond the classrooms it began in. I started studying Architecture at North Carolina State University, where my passion for tinkering led me to a degree in Industrial Design. In the following years I spent time in Angola, Nigeria, and Brazil, where my art and teaching received both local and national recognition. Those experiences reshaped how I think about community, culture, beauty, and what it means to live a life you actually enjoy.
Today I live in New Jersey, where I maintain a studio practice creating illuminated works of art, teach Visual Art at a charter high school in Newark, and continue developing the Feel-Know-Vision framework through writing, conversation, and new creative projects. Some of my work is on permanent display at Newark City Hall, but I believe the most meaningful works I create aren't objects; they're the ideas that help someone else see their own life more clearly.
I don't claim to have life figured out. I simply know that better decisions create better lives.
I'm one human being learning what makes a life well lived. Everything you'll find here: my messages, my book, and my art; are part of that journey. If something I discover helps illuminate your own path, then my work has done what it was meant to.
